Singapore, 29 November 2025 — VIOLA, a vaccine management system developed through collaboration with frontline nursing teams, was showcased at the official opening of Serangoon Polyclinic. During a tour of the facility, Minister for Health Mr Ong Ye Kung visited the VIOLA station, where the NHG Polyclinics team demonstrated its role in vaccination services.
The demonstration formed part of a wider introduction to the polyclinic’s approach to integrated, preventive and patient-centred care. Within that setting, VIOLA illustrated how digital tools can support the clinical work that takes place behind each vaccination, from maintaining storage conditions to checking supplies and preparing for future demand.
The project grew out of nursing practice. NHG Polyclinics described VIOLA as a nurse-led innovation, with teams from Kallang and Serangoon Polyclinics contributing to its ongoing development. OPH Health and the Centre for MedTech & Innovations (CMTi) were acknowledged as project partners. The nursing teams contributed to design, testing and workflow refinement, helping align the system with day-to-day vaccination practice.

At Serangoon, the system brings temperature monitoring, inventory and expiry tracking, and predictive stock planning into the vaccination workflow. These functions are intended to help staff maintain visibility of vaccine supplies and reduce repetitive manual tasks. NHG Polyclinics also highlighted the use of clinical decision support, computer vision and machine learning in the system’s development.
